Here are the results of an actual multivariate test I
ran in April 2006, for the salesetter at http://AdwordsMaximizer.com Type of test: An "L15" which is 2 options each of 7 different factors (variables). Of the 7 factors tested, with and without the date at the top of the salesletter was the factor that had the least impact on response. The winning option: Without a date, did 5% better than with a date. Small margin. That will vary by market and other factors, so by itself doesn't prove that including the date is a mistake. Marty Foley P.S. I posted this because of a debate I saw about this on another forum.
