There are basically just three key ingredients you need
to achieve online business success, no matter what
business you're in.

What do you think they are?

Post your thoughts, and I'll reveal mine on Wednesday
evening.

One of them is traffic. Without traffic a website dies.

tinytuna,

You're exactly right.

Here are the top 3 online business success factors:

1) A product, service, or other 'solution' that people
want, whether your own product or service, or
matching up those looking for the above, with those
providing them.

For example, affiliate marketing, Ebay, and Adsense.

2) Traffic. Or more broadly, the ability to present
your offers to targeted prospects, which generally boils
down to traffic in most cases.

For example, pay per click traffic, organic search,
links, email lists, affiliates, joint venture partners,
etc.

3) Conversion. In other words, an effective sales
process that motivates a healthy percentage of prospects
to take the action(s) you want them to take.

It relates to everything from PPC ad clickthrough rates,
to opt-in and confirmation rates, to sales conversion
rates, etc.

These are the top three areas you should be focusing
on in your online business. Most other stuff tends to be
admin tasks, or 'administrivia'.

Of course, these are 3 pretty broad areas, but are
basically the ones that should get most of your focus.

I welcome any comments or questions on this.

1st: Perseverance, traffic heads west, sites fail and finally Google slaps you...but you pick yourself put down the beer with your sorrows in it and get going again

2nd Focus, its easy to stay busy online, the trick is to keep moving forward

3rd Consistency, you cannot take 2 opposing stands on the same issue, people will never trust you if you are seen to be more interested in the $ than them.
